[GRASS-user] How can I open .map extension file using GRASS or any other OS GIS software

Hi,

I had been using Manifold, and have a store of .map extension files. Now I am planning to shift to OS. But I am finding it difficult to open these files directly. I have tried GRASS and UDIG. Any suggestions?

Doesn't Manifold export shape files (.shp extension)? At least some
version does. You can import shape files into GRASS quite easily. For
raster data I recommend exporting first to GEoTiff.
