[GRASS-user] how to add categories to vector created with r.to.vect

I created the vector file (lines) with r.to.vect
In help I red that NO CATEGORIES for lines are created (I understood - the obiect hasn't identifier). I need to work on data base with them so I need give them a cat values
The manual entry is not an option because there is over 32000 lines
any ideas?

I can't still use PostGIS due to problems with installation (if somebody will sugest it)

I solved it using v.category.
