[GRASS-user] How to make DEM

Hi everybody
I have SRTM data in tiff format. I want to make a DEM of my area in grass. Can anybody help me in this regard?
Thanking you in advance

You have to import the data into a grass location / mapset using r.in.gdal

To create a location, you can use the r.in.gdal location option or,
when you start grass, there is an option to create a location based on
a georeferenced file. You ca also create a location in grass using
EPSG codes or choose you location by hand. All that is done when you
first start grass

Cheers

Hi ramaraju,

you might want to have a look on the very convenient r.in.srtm.

The GRASS Wiki has also some tipps&tricks for SRTM-data
