How would one use Grass to identify swimming pools in Google Imagery and may be out those as points.
Proposed workflow:
Save as an image
Georeference
Identify swimming pools (been doing this manually by creating a point feature where ever there is a swimming pool). Please assist would like to automate this process.

I was thinking of trying this just the other day... to compare with census
demographic information....
I would start with the i.* routines for image classification.

Why not simply add the points in google earth as placemarks and then
try to export? Don't know how to do it exactly since I don't have
access to google earth right now but it should be possible.

Keep in mind that activity such as this is expressly forbidden in Google
Earth's Terms of Use.
I was a little surprised to find how extensive the restrictions are.
Look at their sections of "Automated Submissions" and "Acceptable Site
Use" for details.
