Hi All,
I have tried to process a LANDSAT TM image for finer identification of features. The area represent the lower Ferghana valley region. See image attached. The difficulty is how to proceed further.
I cannot create vector lines for the following reasons. r.thin does not produce neatly, vectorization produces intense line with poor feature demarcation. Can some efficient steps be suggested.

If you use GRASS 7, r.thin has been improved as of today by Markus Metz.
