Helmut,

   Thanks. I started at lists.osgeo.org.

these warnings comes from the underlying gtk and doesn't influence GRASS
GIS functionality.

   My web searches found references to gtk and gnome development. If these
warnings don't affect GRASS fuctions then I'm not going to worry about them.
