[GRASS-user] Import NASA GPM data issue

All:

Does anyone have experience importing NASA GPM data http://pmm.nasa.gov/data-access/downloads/gpm# , which is suppose to be Global, lat-long coordinates??

When trying to use r.in.gdal (GRASS 7.0.0) with the Geotiff file format – obviously the coordinate system is not recognized, although instructions are given for import into ArcMap. If I force import with -o option, the file is imported, but not georeferenced.
