[GRASS-user] installing grass 7.4 and grass-qgis plugin under fedora 27

Dear list,
I managed to install grass 74 from the repository https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/neteler/grass74/
I tried to install the qgis plugin and it seems it requires grass72:
package qgis-grass-2.18.12-1.fc27.i686 requires grass(x86-32) = 7.2.1, but none of the providers can be installed

conflicting requests

[there were few of these lines, but similar in content. I can paste the whole list (long) if necessary]

I tried to install the grass-qgis plugin from both the fedora repository and https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/neteler/QGIS-2.18-Las-Palmas/

Thanks

Laura

Hi Laura,

(I see that you try to install the 32 bit version)

No, it’s clear like this.

I still need to update that repo. Will try to do that tonight.

I have tried but QGIS (for today?) refuses to recognize GRASS GIS 7.4
during compilation [1]
No idea why...

Dear Markus,
thank you very much for your help.

In the error message, I used dnf install qgis* and it was trying to install both versions. But the same error happens with 64 bits.

Regarding QGIS not recognising grass7.4, could it be related with this other thread? http://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/grass-user/2018-February/077854.html

Thanks a lot

Apparently QGIS does not find GRASS during configuration. As of GRASS 7.4, there is now a working grass.pc file to be used with pkg-config, e.g. pkg-config --libs grass. This would need to be used by QGIS configuration.

Thanks a lot

Regarding QGIS not recognising grass7.4,

...

I found it: There is simply no GRASS GIS 7.4 support yet in the CMake
script of QGIS.

I have opened a related pull request:

It got yesterday merged by jef- into qgis:master.

No idea if this will reach 2.18, too?
