[GRASS-user] Joining area and line features from two files into one

Hi,
I have line (canals) and area (water bodies) features in two shape files. I imported them separately into grass. When I tried to combine them using v.overlay, it says ‘or’ is not supported in v.overlay. How can I merge these features into a single file?

v.patch ?

then maybe v.clean tool=snap,break
