[GRASS-user] jp2 format

Can GRASS handle jp2 (jpeg2000) format?

While searching for images to be used with GIS, I came across very
laege files in jp2 format, but I cannot view on Linux. Even I try it
with XnView.

If GRASS cannnot handle it directly, then how to preprocess to use
them in GRASS?

Hi,
GDAL can handle this format if built to do so. Grass use Gdal with r.in.gdal
command so Grass can use it if gdal is built with the correct lib.
More information at : http://www.remotesensing.org/gdal/frmt_jpeg2000.html
