[GRASS-user] New grass user

Having come from synod and 25 yes of arc info I am now retired and on macias ...downloaded 6.4x with python and my ? Is how do I get a shape file or e00 or raster to draw on my screen I know this seems like a stupid ? But it is not readily apparent

how do I get a shape file or e00 or raster

shp: v.in.ogr module
e00 vector: v.in.e00 module
e00 raster: I don't know

drawing on screen: after importing as grass maps hopefully
that becomes easy. see the quickstart,
