[GRASS-user] Open source software for geophysic - electric soundings (VES)

anybody knows if there is an open software for linux like DCINV:

http://www.gf.oulu.fi/~mpi/Softat/Dcinv.html

"The DCINV program can be used to *model and to interpret geophysical
direct current (DC) a.k.a. vertical electric soundings (VES)* *using a
horizontally layered earth model*. The DCINV program can handle the
three most typical measurement configurations: *Schlumberger*, Wenner
and dipole-dipole arrays. Parameter optimization, which is based on
*linearized inversion method*, can be utilized to make 1 D interpretations."

or...

anybody have some articles that explain the inversion of this kind of data (linear inversion method)?
if you have something could you send it to me??
i could implement that in a open software... (oocalc? octave..., R... or.....???)

thank you!!!
Bye, Luca
