[GRASS-user] Problem displaying a vector map

Hi list
I have prepared a topographic contour map from SRTM image. It was working all right for quite some time. Recently, I tried to display the map and it is giving the following message.

PNG: GRASS_TRUECOLOR status: TRUE

PNG: collecting to file: /home/rr/grassdata/trust_utm/trust/.tmp/rr-lah/10338.0.ppm,

GRASS_WIDTH=642, GRASS_HEIGHT=455

coor files of vector ‘topo_contour@trust’ is larger than it should be (14 bytes excess).

The bounding box of the map is outside the current region, nothing drawn.

When I tried making ps file with ps.map it gives a similar message. Can you say something about the possible problem and how to correct it? I am not finding any problem while displaying other vector or raster maps. I am using grass 6.3 on ubuntu 8.04 and also on windows. The problem is same in both the operating systems. I prepared another contour map, but that too is giving a similar message

Thanking you in advance

Somehow your file got messed up (did you do any digitizing on it ?). Try running v.build.

Try running v.build.

For me v.build alone does not help the "coor files of vector is larger
than it should be". However opening the vector map in v.digit and
quitting does.

Does anybody have an idea why this file size excess happens at all? It crops out from time to time when you run v.build on a vector map lacking topology (e.g. due to v.digit crash).
