[GRASS-user] Projected maps on WXgui/Monitor ?

Hi & happy new 2013 to you all,

is there a way to render GRASS layers in a given map projection (like Mollweide, Albers, Stereographic, etc) on a GRASS monitor (GRASS6.x) or the new WXGui (GRASS7.0) ?

[e.g: If a conic projection would be used, the data would indeed look "conical" on the screen]

I remember that add-on code for this existed in the days of GRASS4|5.x, which got lost.

All advice would be much appreciated.
