I get the following error when trying to import a map with r.in.ascii:
ERROR: Data conversion failed at row 245, col 197
Since this error message is not very self-explanatory, anyone have idea on what can possibly be the problem?
To verify if the command works, I exported and then re-imported another map, and everything went smooth, therefore it must be something related to the map that I’m trying to import…
G6.4.3svn
Thanks for any hint.

I figured out that the problem in my map was the mismatch between the number of rows / cols given in the header and the actual number of rows/cols. It would be nice to add a hint that comes with the error, i.e. something like:
ERROR: Data conversion failed at row 245, col 197
Please verify that the number of rows/cols given in the header matches with the actual number of rows/cols.
…or something like that.
Thanks and best regards.
