Hi Richard,
(re-adding the user list)
[topic: r.in.lidar/v.in.lidar support on Fedora]
So, the liblas package on Fedora is lacking "liblas-config" which
makes it unusable for GRASS GIS. Tthe maintainer of liblas in Fedora
told me that we would need to support /usr/lib64/pkgconfig/liblas.pc
but I have no time to tweak it. And, liblas is deprecated anyway and
PDAL is the way to go.
I made some efforts in the last weeks to make PDAL an official Fedora
and EPEL package (it is now available) and could activate that for
GRASS GIS.
We have v.in.pdal in the core system and r.in.pdal in addons.
And a new version of r.in.pdal awaits testing:
https://github.com/OSGeo/grass/pull/61
What do you think? Shall I switch to PDAL (see also
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1672170)?
Best,
Markus

Hi Markus,
Chasing after liblas makes no sense, but switching to PDAL does.
Agreed. So I pushed a GRASS GIS update to Fedora, please test it:

For the record: submitted to testing in EPEL8 as well (RHEL, Centos8 etc):
