[GRASS-user] r.li modules

Dear list,
I’m trying to use GRASS r.li modules to obtain some landscape metrics from a raster map.
I’ve been working with PatchAnalyst, Fragstats or LecoS and I’ve no problems, but I’ve problems to interpret the results obteined with r.li. I don’t get a value for a metric (ex. r.li.patchdensity or r.li patchnum), but a raster map.
I configure the region (r.li.setup) as it’s the GRASS manual, defining the region fon analysis as ‘Whole maplayer’ and the sampling area as ‘Moving Window’.
¿Could someone help me to interpretate the results?

Thank’s in advance.

Hi Josep,

next week I'll try to dedicate some time to r.li.* to check its state!

Please ping me in a week if I didn't respond.

Best

an update: the r.li modules have been essentially rewritten
by Markus Metz in the past weeks.

The results are now identical between GRASS 6 and
GRASS 7 (as it should be). In the GRASS 7 version there is also a new version
of r.li.setup (called g.gui.rlisetup) which is easier to use than that of GRASS 6.

It will be part of the upcoming GRASS 6.4.4 (or you take the snapshot) and it is
already in the GRASS 7.0.0beta1.

In case of one resulting number rather than a map, now the output is properly
generated.

Please give it a try, it should be all fine now.

Best
Markus
