[GRASS-user] r.massmov

_ I’m a rookie Grass user,
_ i have a problem in executing the r.massmov addon

_ after installing r.massmov through the graphical user interface (Menu - Settings - Addons Extension - Install),
when i try to execute the module i get this error message:

ScriptError

:
Unable to fetch interface description for command
‘r.massmov’.
Details: C:\Program Files (x86)\GRASS GIS
7.0.0svn\extrabin\python.exe: can’t open file ‘r.massmov’:
[Errno 2] No such file or directory

_ I’ve never faced such kind of problem with Grass

_ Any suggestions are appreciated.

We have recently made heavy updates in the release branch. The Addons
are compiled against the current release branch, so that you need a
recent GRASS GIS 7 installation to remain compliant.

Later today the first release candidate (RC1) will be published, you
may try to install it as soon as available (a few days max) and then
install the addon.

Markus

Danilo,
could you tell us something more about your issue?

  • Are you using windows or linux?
  • Which GRASS version?

Hi Maxi

Danilo,
could you tell us something more about your issue?

- Are you using windows or linux?
- Which GRASS version?

Maxi

I've tested also for Danilo.

It's a winGRASS issue. Some tests a few days ago with trunk.

it seems r.massmov.exe is built ok in winGRASS.
(compilation log:
http://wingrass.fsv.cvut.cz/grass71/addons/grass-7.1.svn/logs/r.massmov.log)

unfortunately it shows no reaction if you call it from the winGRASS-windows
command line or from wxGUI-command line; thus the autogenerated GUI of
r.massmov doesn't come up:

ScriptError
:
Unable to fetch interface description for command
'r.massmov'.

It means that there’s something to fix in the module? Or is a grass issue?

Thanks
Maxi

It means that there's something to fix in the module? Or is a grass issue?

tested here again:

GRASS Version: 7.1.svn
GRASS SVN revision: 64291
Build date: 2015-01-24
Build platform: i686-pc-mingw32
GDAL: 1.11.1
PROJ.4: 4.8.0
GEOS: 3.4.2
SQLite: 3.7.17
Python: 2.7.4
wxPython: 2.8.12.1
Platform: Windows-7-6.1.7601-SP1 (OSGeo4W)

as r.massmov doesn't show any (re)action, it's hard to say; but I assume a
fix in r.massmov is needed.

a quick test with different debug levels:

g.gisenv set=DEBUG=3
g.gisenv set=DEBUG=5

C:\>r.massmov
C:\>

C:\>r.massmov --help
C:\>

C:\>r.massmov --ui
C:\>

if you try to invoke the module, unfortunately nothing happens: no error
message, no debug message, ...

maybe something with parallelization in windows?

I think that the quickest solution for this problem could be to change my pc platform or use a virtual platform (virtual box)

Could it be ?

What platform does support the r.massmov addon without error or interface problem?

Thanks, for the patience
