[GRASS-user] stratified sampling design

hi grass-friends,

i prepare fieldwork for forest-mapping. i have a lot of digital input data like DEM, inclination, exposition, geology, soil properties, etc.

is there a way in GRASS to set up a stratified sampling design for the fieldwork? that means to build classes with similiar properties of DEM, inclination, exposition, geology, soil, etc.

maybe some hints for internet ressources, links or literature?

thanks in advance!

with greetings from austria

How about hierarchical or partitioning based clustering ?

I am currently experimenting with something like that in my research:

Particularly fond of this image:

...still need to work on the nuts and bolts of making this rigorous /
repeatable however...

Good luck,
