Hi, guys, I want to follow the answer in this post splitting a lines layer using points to split a line by nearby points, all I want to ask is can v.edit split a line just using the coordinates of nearby points, and without ids of this line as input?
AFAIK the id parameter is not required. You can split with just the x-y coordinates, and a threshold value. But be aware that with a dense line network, and a large threshold, you might end up splitting several lines with the same point.
