[GRASS-user] v.in.gpsbabel into a UTM location

Hi all,
I´m trying without success to pull in data from a garmin gps into a UTM projected location using v.in.gpsbabel. I´ve tried to switch between Lat/Long as well as UTM/UPS but the imported waypoints are always in lat/long. Do I have to create a lat/long location and then export the vectors or can I do it directly into the UTM location? If the latter is possible, what options should I be trying?

does it work with v.in.garmin?
