[GRASS-user] v.krige dependency: rpy2

One dependency for v.krige is rpy2. The CRAN package list (at
https://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/cran/) does not show this, only rPython, Version:
0.0-6 Published: 2015-11-15.

Can Anne Ghisla or someone else help resolve this?

it's not shown on CRAN as it is a python package:
https://pypi.org/project/rpy2/

Helmut,

Thanks! With no extension to the filename it's not obvious to a naive user
whether it's R or Python.

Rich

FYI: there is also v.kriging which does not depend on R.

Moritz,

I saw that and have been trying to figure out the difference(s) between
v.kriging and v.krige. I plan to apply both to my precipitation data set and
play with their parameters as I try to understand them. They both support
ordinary kriging and, if I correctly recall, one of them also supports
general kriging. I didn't know those are different.

Any insights from you (and others) on the differences will be very
helpful.

Best regards,

Rich
