Hi,
after discovering that Openoffice.org offers a *graphical* query
engine for databases (you know that for a long time certainly :-),
I thought that a wiki page would be useful:
http://grass.gdf-hannover.de/wiki/Openoffice.org_with_SQL_Databases
* 1.1 PostgreSQL (OpenOffice.org 2.x)
o 1.1.1 Installation of PostgreSQL driver
o 1.1.2 Usage of PostgreSQL driver
* 1.2 MySQL (OpenOffice.org 2.x)
* 1.3 DBF files (OpenOffice.org 2.x)
* 1.4 MS-Access mdb files (OpenOffice.org 2.x)
* 1.5 SQLite files (OpenOffice.org 2.x)
Please extend...

Yes, and theoretically it should be not too difficult to have OOo draw
to display also PostGIS vectors...
I do not think Sun is too interested in this, though.

Hi All!
Following this path I "found out" that KEXI supports SQLITE too. You
might find some references here e.g.:
http://www.kexi-project.org/wiki/wikiview/index.php?KexiFAQ
I'm not using KEXI myself, so I can't give any details. I hope some
KDE/KEXI user could elaborate and extend WIKI in this regard. KEXI seems
cool.

Done so
Now the page comes with a graphical guide how to convert
Excel/whatever tables into an SQL DB using Openoffice-Base.
cheers
Markus
I was thinking about adding some pages to the FAQ category but it looks like
the option to add pages has been turned off. Or am I missing something.

Jerry,
you need to register first. Then you can modify pages (needed
to keep spammers out).
