I just had a look in the latest wxGUI. The icons are neat and the
user-experience gives a very positive impression (in terms of
responsiveness and stability).
I don't really use the GUI (if at all) but I would like to see in grass'
shell some features that I experience in other tools such as: command
auto-completion and syntax highlighting (take for example JGR: a Java
GUI for R) or just a drop-down windows that shows the syntax.
So I would really try-out to work command-line typing within the GUI but
only if useful features are there.
I read the in the "roadmap" of the wxPython-based GUI for GRASS that
there are plans to implement such features.

What's the status for these?
AFAIK, 0-status. It wouldn't be so difficult, anyway I am going to be
busy in the next months. We definitely need more developers for wxGUI.
