grass4.0.cpio.Z corrupt?

|Be sure you are setting "type binary" in ftp before ftp'ing the file. Also
|you could try "get grass4.0.cpio" without the .Z and the server will
|decompress it before it sends it. You should still use "type binary" or
|else when you use cpio you may get a file corrupt error.

     Generally good advice. Our cpio archives _should_ all have ascii headers,
so ascii mode shouldn't kill most cpio tranfers. If anyone has or has had
problems transferring cpio archives in mode ascii, send me email at
lists-owner@moon.cecer.army.mil .
