grass binary for platform: Compiled from Sources

Dear Developers,
I would like to see a 'square meter' unit integrated in the v.to.db
module. Currently supported volumes are acres and hectares.
units mi(les),f(eet),me(ters),k(ilometers),a(cres),h(ectares)
And I would need to do something like:
v.to.db map=map option=area units=sqm col1=area

miles, feets, meters and kilometers are square for option=area.
