[GRASS5] [bug #2432] (grass) Error after entering location and mapset and database

Subject: Error after entering location and mapset and database

Platform: GNU/Linux/i386
grass obtained from: Trento Italy site
grass binary for platform: Downloaded precompiled Binaries
GRASS Version: 5.0.3

1.I downloaded the sample data file spearfish_grass53data.tar.gz in /usr/grass5
2.I extract it to /usr/grassdata
Then I start grass5
and enter the entries as :
LOCATION: spearfish_____ (enter list for a list of locations)
MAPSET: user1_________ (or mapsets within a location)
                                                                                
DATABASE: /usr/grassdata____________________________________
                                                                                
I get this thing :
Sorry, no access to <<user1>>.
                                                                                
Mapsets in location <spearfish>
----------------------
   PERMANENT user1
                                                                                
note: you do not have access to any of these mapsets
----------------------

You can only select a mapset which you own (in the sense of Unix file
ownership).

            SO What to do now.

Either enter a different mapset (if you enter a non-existent mapset,
it will be created), or change the ownership of the user1
subdirectory.
