It looks like CVS service for GRASS might have a glitch right now.
Some cvs client update commands sometimes crash and leave lock files
around which might cause trouble for other people.
We are looking into this, but it might take a while.
Keep me posted if you have problems with CVS.

I upgraded the cvs server to 1.10.8 once, but did not expect
difficulties because of this.
Mostly everything works fine, so there is no need to worry.

CVS just flakes out every once in a while. Newer revisions
of CVS are a little better at handling error conditions,
but are still far from flawless. Have someone with the
appropriate permissions clear out the lock files, and get
on with it.

True.

That's what we did.
Justin is able to create the hanging lockfiles again.
My mail was just to let all developers know what is going on,
and to mail us if you experience problems.
Right now CVS should work just fine.
