[GRASS5] DBF field lengths

Hi,

http://grass.ibiblio.org/grass57/manuals/html57_user/sql.html

states the max DBF column name length is 10 characters; I seem to
remember that GRASS DBF text field had some max length as well, 40
chars? 254?

..and this isn't an issue if you are linked to say a Postgres database?
