[GRASS5] GRASS included in Linux-Distributions

Hi list,

does anybody know, if GRASS is included in any of the
Standard-linux-Distributions (like SuSE, RedHat, ...). I don't think so,
therefore my real question:
• Did ever anybody try to contact the "Distribution-Maker" to include
the GRASS-packages
• or is it impossible (why ever - what to do?)
• or is it undesired from the GRASS-community
• or is it undesired from the "Distribution-Makers", ...?

grass 5.0.3 is included in Debian sarge, and work is underway to package grass
5.7.
Packages are available for Mandrake.

no it is, for example Mandrake Linux has right now 3 packages:
grass-5.0.3
grass53-5.3.0
grass57-5.7.0

GRASS 5.7 will also be packaged for Fedora Core 2.
