[GRASS5] java jni bridge for grass

Grass5 list,

I built the src.garden/grass.java jni system for Cygwin. There
was no install target in the gnumakefile. I have the jar
file, docs, and the DLLs.

Where should they be installed? Anyone interested?

What about
$(GISBASE)/java
?

Did it build without problems (wow)? Otherwise we should fix it...

John,

as far as i remember the grass.java libraries are currently _not_
adopted to the grass5 floating point libraries, so they are essentially
useless in the current form.

This is IMHO the reason that they are not installed.
But if someone wants to work on the floating point/grass5 interface it
would be great to know how you built them.

cu,

Andreas

David, (Grass5 list)

Yes, I would be happy to collaborate on a Java bridge to Grass5.

Do you have some design statements on what you want to do?
How much coding has been done? Are you willing to put it
into the Grass5 distribution? What can I do to help with the
port to the Windows NT/2000 system?
