I am trying to compile the release branch on a Debian-Potato i386 computer. NVIZ fails to compile. I have tk8.0 (8.0.5) and related developer files including the correct tkInt.h need for togl.c. These are loaded at /usr/include/tk8.0/generic/ on my machine. All configure options I try still pick up the tkInt8.0p.h from the NVIZ/src directory while picking up the tk.h from /usr/include/
My assumption is that all the tkInt files are fixing other bugs and 8.0.5 (as packaged by Debian) is not compatable with those fixes.

From my look at togl.c I need to modify togl.c to pick up tkInt.h and ./configure --with-tk-tcl=/usr/include/tk8.0/generic to use tk where it is on my machine. I will try this and report back.
Either I am doing something dumb. Or I misunderstand how tk includes are structured. Or I messed up the configure.
There should always be a way for a user to configure around badly packaged distributions by locally compiling her own version of badly packaged software. It seems this code assumes my tk is broken and doesn't offer me an option to point to another location - which assumes I am not capable of installing a correct one.
Look like grass5.0 will be a release soon. Good work, to all on the grass team.
Thanks.
