[GRASS5] Ping, GRASS contact address.

Bruce,
(copy to grass5-List).

it is good know that the emails get answers.

The problem is that the developers do not get much feedback
from people writing there. Especially about the webpages.
We could all profit from seeing the questions and answers in public.

What do you think about using an open email list for this then.
All your five people could subscribe and continue the good service.
But if we find more people this would also spread the load better.

Additionally we all get more feedback about what users write about.

Best,
  Bernhard

Depending on the question, there are about 5 people who may answer,
deal with any particular subject.

Hi Bruce,

a set of pages is outdated at Baylor web site:

http://www3.baylor.edu/grass/bugtracking/bugreport.html
http://www3.baylor.edu/grass/firsttime.html
ftp://grass.baylor.edu/pub/grass/grass5/binary/windows_cygnus/cygwin_grass50comp+ile.html
    (2001/11/14 - the latest is from 2002/01/22)

Quite some differences:
ftp://grass.baylor.edu/pub/grass/grass5/binary/windows_cygnus/
to
http://grass.itc.it/grass5/binary/windows_cygnus/

also
ftp://grass.baylor.edu/pub/grass/grass5/binary/windows_cygnus/wingrass/
-> winGRASS does not exist at Baylor

ftp://grass.baylor.edu/pub/grass/htmlman/
-> from year 1998/2000, outdated

http://www3.baylor.edu/grass/grass_addons.html

http://www3.baylor.edu/grass/gdp/html_grass5/html_grass5.tar.gz
-> is from 2002-01-26 (you could run a cronjob to update that
   automatically

http://www3.baylor.edu/grass/grass5/progmangrass50.pdf
-> 20th December 2001

http://www3.baylor.edu/grass/statsgrass/index.html

etc. (I didn't check all)

Please regularly update the pages to avoid user confusion.
May I suggest to automate updating...

Markus
