Hi all,
Frank Warmerdam was so kind to add "-e" to r.in.gdal:
-e Extend location extents based on new dataset.
If you import data with r.in.gdal and the import map is larger
than the default location, r.in.gdal automaticallly extends
the DEFAULT_WIND if specifying "-e". This makes data import
real fun.
BTW: the "location=" option works well, too. You can create
a new location from a GIS dataset from another unrelated
location. Only thing to do is to run g.setproj afterwards
in the newly created location. Like that the user doesn't
need to know much about how to create a GRASS location manually.
Kudos to Frank,
Markus
