[GRASS5] Raster lib modifications for making GRASS run on Clusters?

I would be interested to have a preliminary assessment on the raster lib
modifications to do if we want to port them on a Cluster. Markus told me that
Glynn was working on the Raster libs these days and may have a better idea of
where to look or what to address for parallel processing modifications.

Anybody that has any idea, any thought or gathered already any information
towards getting GRASS to run on cluster, could please come forward?

I will try to centralize that somewhere online in a digested/organized format
and see what we can do practically with it.

What exactly are you looking for? Thread-safe I/O?
