very nice, it works now. Now you can even close monitors by "killing"
them.
I have the fix for the typecast ready and i have nearly ready a code
reorganization that allows to switch between fifo and ipc messages by
compiler switch (-DIPC or -DFIFO).
Just to announce this, so that we do not get under our feet again. I
hope that it can wait until Saturday morning, as i will check it in
then.
I'll have a look at this weird CELL driver problem too.
There is no need to propagate the change to the ipc-new/io.c, as it
works with ipc msgs. because the system with testing by opening a fifo
is not used there.

Andreas

Hi Andreas, hi Eric,
this would be great and helpful! The behaviour changed but on KDE desktop
environment the monitor does *not* close when hitting the close button
on monitor window (just nothing happens). However, after invoking another
d.* module, the monitor closes and can be restarted without problems. So
generally it seems to be o.k., but the close "button" is locked.
Using fvwm2 or whatever I expect that the monitor will close immediately. I
can try that at home. Do you have a hint to make monitors on KDE behave like
this?

O.k., no problem. Take yout time of course.

Thanks as well!
