Hi Moritz,this is surprising as the monitor management is unchanged for month.
We have recently included a preliminary IPC-support, but this is
not used on default. So I guess it is a local problem (maybe new
Xfree version or new windows manager?).Please: for discussions on CVS related stuff, please use the
developer list (not to bother the "stable users").Thanks

Ok, here I am on the developer list. Sorry for hving bothered the main list,
but I did not consider myself a developer 
I have recently switched to X11R6.4 (4.0.1-3), so that might be the problem.
