[GRASS5] Re: Partial fix for GRASS " PNT_TO_AREA failed " e00 import errors

Did you check the development group archive?
I am not sure if I'd saw a solution to this.
Google's databases are not always up to date.

Thanks for sharing your code.
Can you elaborate on the version of GRASS you were using?

The GRASS developers are always eager to learn about GRASS bugs.

http://grass.itc.it/bugtracking/bugreport.html

Well, this has been kicked around before, according to Google, and
the prevailing opinion seems to be that the bug is in the ARC/INFO
export format rather than in GRASS. GRASS simply won't accept
incorrectly defined polygons with stray interior arcs in the polygon
definition. My code just supresses the extra (seemingly useless)
arcs. Of course, ESRI is not bound to follow any particular rules of
logic in their proprietary file formats.

I have not tested the fix program against any double precision files,
so I don't know if it will work on them.

FWIW, I'm using GRASS 5.0pre3 built from source with gcc under
Solaris 8.
