Hi Jeshua,
where did you put it? Perhaps just send it as attachment...
Uh-oh!
Two potential problems!
1. I have done a "make distclean" a while ago (to compile CVS version, which has been compiled)
2. I have searched the /usr/src/grass/. directory and directories and the /usr/local/grass/. directory and directories and I cannot locate a "grass5install.sh" file.
Will I have to recompile beta 8?
Sorry,

It is the really long line for the bindist target. Save the file and
then do a "make bindist" which should produce the grass5install.sh file.
Don't forget to un-comment the lines again once you have the
grass5install.sh file.
Let me know if you have any problems.

does it make sense to have an own target to build the
script? Maybe I could change that, if you agree.
My vote would be not to create such a target. Although it wouldn't do
any harm it would seldom need to be used, and could be confusing to
people trying to understand how the Makefile creates the binary
distribution. Besides there is a message printed at the end reminding
the user to upload both the tar file and the shell script.
BTW, how did you fix the version problem? I see that you now define
SRCDIR from configure, but then SRCDIR is not used in the definition of
VERSION or NAME_VER. Why did the problem go away? Just curious.
