I exported my grid3d data to vis5d but an error is reported when I try to
import the generated v5d file in vis5d.
It seems that the command r3.out.v5d is interrupted before the end, but
the v5d file is created!
I´ve installed grass 6.0.0 GNU.

Post exact command syntax and output, including error. I'm not saying I
will be able to help you but in order for anyone to be able to you must
be specific.

there is no error messages. Anyway the output file is created, but when I

Actually I´m not sure if there is a problem with the exported file or with

Right. So I won't know either, I don't use vis5d. The only things I can
adivise to you is to:
1. Run your r3.out.v5d from Grass CLI, to make perfectly sure there are
no errors when executing the command - Grass>=5.7 GUI hides error
messages like segfaults from the user. It was reported: https://intevation.de/rt/webrt?serial_num=3010
2. For a cross test, import your r3.out.v5d output back into Grass with
r3.in.v5d. In case it doesn't fail you could consider blaming vis5d
eventuality.
Do you know any other program able to open vis5d files so you could
verify more?

It's worth looking at the new r3.out.vtk [1] along with
paraview. This is way better than vis5d.
Thanks to Sören, with r3.out.vtk you can now export a volume,
define top and bottom of the volume by a 2D raster map (e.g.,
a DEM and a depths map) and drape another 2D raster map
(aerial image) over it with colors (the latter I didn't figure
out yet, but also r.out.vtk does it).
I did what you suggested:
Run r3.out.v5d from Grass CLI and import r3.out.v5d output back into Grass.
The file is imported to grass but when I try to visualize it with nviz (the same way I do with the original file) the nviz panel quits abruptly!
So I think the problem is with the exported file (r3.out.v5d command).
I don´t know any other program able to open vis5d files but I´ll try the paraview with r3.out.vtk as Markus Neteler suggested.
Thanks
Andrea
