[GRASSLIST:10663] Re: problems with GIS manager Re: GRASS 6.1 cvs gis.m error

Eric,

"Finished GRASS 61 i686-pc-linux-gnu compilation."

Problem solved. Thanks to you for spotting it and to
Glynn for solving it:

bash-2.04$ tar tvfz grass-6.1.cvs-i686-pc-linux-gnu-01_03_2006.tar.gz | grep XDR
-rwxr-xr-x neteler/grass 33824 2006-03-01 18:57:37 driver/XDRIVER

bash-2.04$ tar tvfz grass-6.1.cvs-i686-pc-linux-gnu-01_03_2006.tar.gz | grep monitor
-rw-r--r-- neteler/grass 1580 2006-03-01 18:57:37 etc/monitorcap
-rw-r--r-- neteler/grass 466 2006-03-01 18:53:27 include/grass/monitors.h

The Linux 6.1-CVS snapshot should be usable again:
http://grass.itc.it/grass61/binary/linux/snapshot/
(on the mirrors by tomorrow)

6.1cvs gis.m error

I have applied it to CVS and launched the cron job to create the binary
snaphot (should be ready in 1h from now if it completes now).

Thanks Markus,

I tried installing the new binary you put up and it works!

i did have one nagging doubt though- am attaching a screenshot of the GIS manager. It seems to not have ‘Display’ and ‘GIS’ drop-down menus, instead it has a ‘Config’ drop-down menu. I could not simply display a GRASS map using the GIS manager, although the regular command line options d.rast etc works as before.

Also on the GIS manager, if i add a scale/legend etc, it does not show up on top of the displayed map at all…

i am returning to GRASS after 4 years, so unfamiliar with the GIS manager- it could be that’s all there is to it, but thought i’d confirm.

thanks all!
