Hi- This is my first day with GRASS, and I'm having problems starting a
graphics window. I looked in the archives and the faq, but am still a bit
confused. Problem happens when I try to start a monitor:

Sorry, </usr/local/grass-5.0b/dev/fifo.1a> not available
Have GRASS adminstrator check etc/monitorcap file
Can't stat /usr/local/grass-5.0b/dev/fifo.1a
Problem selecting x0. Will try once more
Can't stat /usr/local/grass-5.0b/dev/fifo.1a
hit RETURN ->
********************
So I went to the directory and there are no fifo.1a files.
What should I try now?
