[GRASSLIST:1531] r.mapcalc usage

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me examples of
r.mapcalc usage?

I believe, it's a powerful tool
for raster analysis, but can't
figure out where to apply it.

Thanks, Artemis

Check out the GRASS resources webpages. There should be a whole
tutorial on using r.mapcalc (in PostScript format). It's slightly dated
for GRASS 5.0, but the biggest change there is the separation of zero
and NULL and the addition of an isnull() function (mentioned in
manpages).

It is a useful tool.

Hi Artemis,

there are some nice tutorials here:

http://www.geog.uni-hannover.de/grass/gdp/index.html#raster
-> r.mapcalc: An algebra for GIS and image processing (Postscript, 22 pages)
-> Performing map calculations on GRASS data: r.mapcalc program tutorial
   (Postscript, 13 pages)

From that you will get ideas,

Markus
