[GRASSLIST:1575] zoom into imported .shp vector files

I just imported a whole bunch of ArcInfo *.shp vector files. It worked fine, but as soon as I zoom in (that is to say that my view doesn't cover the whole area covered by these data) the data aren't visible anymore. This doesn't happen with other datasets in the same mapset which I have created myself.
