(I know v.info is from GRASS 5.3. I just wanted to show what type of vector I am dealing with.)
v.buffer in=drag out=drag.buff type=area buff=500
Areas buffers ... 100%
Building parts of topology ...
1 primitives registered
Number of nodes : 1
Number of primitives: 1
Number of points : 0
Number of lines : 0
Number of boundaries: 1
Number of centroids : 0
Number of areas : -
Number of isles : -
Snapping boundaries ...
All vertices: 6115
Registered points (unique coordinates): 1725
Nodes marked as anchor : 1723
Nodes marked to be snapped : 2
Snapped vertices : 1465
New vertices : 17
Breaking boundaries ...
Intersections: 0
The command ran for 2 hours and did not manage to buffer the vector. What have I done wrong? Why did the v.buffer show no area if I converted an area vector to GRASS 5.7?
Thanks, Miha Staut
