[GRASSLIST:2654] import USGS DEM

hi-

i am unable to import a USGS DEM (original file format - not SDTS) into
grass 5.0.3 using either r.in.ascii or r.in.gdal ..... both attempts result
in a segmentation fault.

thanks in advance

dylan

Can anyone suggest a quick way of getting Xfree86 w/o
having to go through the slower cygwin links ?

When I was doing this in grass 5.0.0 the correct way to read in native
format DEMs was with m.dem.extract.
