Where can I find more info about autotrace process of plain, scanned bitmap?
IS it possible to convert scanned maps to vector format if I have scanned map containing only for example lines?

r.thin
r.line
should help. As the r.line manual page says, run r.thin first, then after
conversion, run v.support on the result, and possibly v.trim too.
