[GRASSLIST:3406] 60,000 Vectors and Nothing's On

I succeeded in Importing an ESRI shapefile, apparently. The log file
says 60,000 vectors were read.

How do I look at the thing?

I have Monitor x0 as a solid black window which I can't get anything to
appear on. Displaying the imported vector map only produces text
messages that plotting is done.

Scot,

Maybe the default color is black and you need to change the color to white or yellow... Another possibility is that your default region does not include the are you are trying to map.

I had already defined the region to match the map.
I tried it again, and now the map is visible.

I suggest that "Plotting...Done" is not sufficient feedback.
"Plotting...No points within display region...Done" would help.

This is already implemented in GRASS 5.7...
