we r working in a group called Indictrans working on gnu/linux
localisaton and e-governance etc. (ref www.indictrans.org) We wish to
learn, use and popularise GRASS.During working on GRASS we get some
problems.actually we have done operations like DIGITIZATION etc. on
existing map.But we want to create a new map .
we have referred to book OPEN SOURCE GIS:A GRASS GIS APPROACH and we
didn't get anything related to creation of new map.sir plz send us some
leads,links and information.

Do you mean printed maps? This is explained in chapter 8.

dear sir,
let me put it in more clear words. We want to create (or rather DRAW)
"new" maps from the information available in the form of rough drawings
or similar data.
when we referred to your book ""openSource GIS : A GRASS GIS approach"
it mentioned about two tools:
Xfig
sketch
("Map design with Xfig and Sketch" Page 204)
all our queries are based on this paragraph.
Please guide us on this.
