[GRASSLIST:4692] Categories in GRASS 57

HI,
  How can I change the category of a vector in GRASS 57 (from 1 to 2,
keeping the name and the rest of database registers ) ?
  I tried "v.reclass" and "v.extract" but I miss the database table
connection (GRASS create a new vector but not a new table).
